Staff.
The
resident Housekeeper lives in a flat on the first floor of Rider House.
She is not on duty 24 hours a day. When she is off duty or away on
holiday, a relief housekeeper is employed. A member of staff is always
in the house during the night but there will be occasional times during
the day when no staff members are present, for example, when the
Housekeeper is out shopping.
Apart from the Housekeeper and other staff, Rider House benefits from
the help of volunteers and is overseen by the Executive Committee.
Members of the Executive Committee are local people of various ages who have a wide range of experience and expertise:
- The secretary has been in office since 2000 and is a retired building surveyor.
- The treasurer has a long background in banking from which he is now retired.
Other members of the committee include:
- a retired General Practitioner.
- a Centre Manager of a large mixed-use building in North London who has worked for a number of leading London-based property companies in the past.
- a full time worker in the training department of the Post Office
- a qualified nurse who is currently a Ward Sister in a hospice.
